Sensational Final Of The 2019 Longines Global Champions Tour For Its First Debut In New York

New York makes sensational debut on the 2019 LGCT series for the much-anticipated final of the season, of which Longines is the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper. The Swiss watch brand was delighted to take part in this grand premiere and to witness the world’s finest riders and horses compete in the exceptional setting of Governors Island, with the Statue of Liberty and the lower Manhattan skyline as a backdrop. Longines was also proud to lend its name to the weekend’s highlight trial, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of New York claimed by British rider Ben Maher on Explosion W. He was crowned winner of the 2019 series. On this occasion, Longines had the pleasure to welcome its Ambassador of Elegance Andre Agassi.

Gathering the best international riders and horses in the world’s most beautiful cities for nineteen legs, the Longines Global Champions Tour ended, for the very first time, in a blaze of glory in the vibrant city New York. On Saturday, Ben Maher on Explosion W shined in the weekend’s highlight competition, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of New York. In recognition of his great performance, the winner received an elegant timepiece from the hands of Charles Villoz, Longines Vice President Sales and Andre Agassi, Ambassador of Elegance for the brand.
 

In addition, as New York marked the end of the season, the results obtained by the riders enabled the establishment of the final 2019 overall Longines Global Champions Tour ranking. He was also officially crowned winner of the 2019 Longines Global Champions Tour, while Pieter Devos (BEL) and Daniel Deusser (GER) secured second and third place respectively.
 

In order to honour their outstanding achievements during this year, all three were granted elegant Longines timepieces from the hands of Charles Villoz, Longines Vice President Sales together with Andre Agassi, Longines Ambassador of Elegance and Pascal Savoy, Longines Brand President US.
 

Furthermore, Longines is looking forward to the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix, which will be staged in the magical Czech capital Prague from Thursday 21 to Sunday 24 November, and of which Longines is the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper. During this unique equestrian rendezvous, the winners of each Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix will be invited to compete in this thrilling format to decide who will come out on top of the world’s best athletes as the champion of the champions.
