Martin Fuchs And Clooney Were Highly Successful At Equita Longines

Swiss rider Martin Fuchs and his mount Clooney set themselves apart by winning the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM Western European League, held this weekend at Equita Longines, le Salon du Cheval de Lyon.

As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the French event, the Swiss watchmaking brand Longines also had the pleasure to present the second key show jumping competition of the weekend, the Longines Grand Prix, which took place on Friday and resulted in a victory for Daniel Deusser (GER) and Tobago Z. Both trials’ winners were granted with elegant Longines timepieces as a reward for their incredible performance.
 

Result of the new collaboration between the Swiss watchmaking brand Longines and its long-standing partner GL Events, the first edition of Equita Longines, le Salon du Cheval de Lyon – taking place from 31 October to 4 November at Eurexpo Lyon – beautifully ended with the victory of Martin Fuchs (SWI) and Clooney at the Lyon leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM Western European League. During this world-class show jumping competition, Italy’s Lorenzo de Luca and his mount Ensor de Litrange LXII took second place followed by Steve Guerdat (SWI) on Bianca. This qualifying leg allows the world’s best forty rider/horse couples to accumulate points for the prestigious Final taking place in Gothenburg, Sweden, in April 2019. On Friday 2 November, the Longines Grand Prix, the other key trial of the weekend, was captured by Daniel Deusser (GER) on Tobago Z. Swiss rider Steve Guerdat on Bianca and Olivier Philippaerts (BEL) on H&M Legend of Love completed the podium. Both competitions’ winners were presented with elegant Longines timepieces from the hands of Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing.
 

During Equita Longines, le Salon du Cheval de Lyon, the winged hourglass brand was delighted to present the Conquest V.H.P. GMT Flash Setting as the Official Watch of the event. Known as Europe’s biggest annual equestrian gathering, Equita Longines, le Salon du Cheval de Lyon gathered more than 3500 horses in one location and about 800 exhibitors and breeders on 140 000 m2 of exhibition. As the Official Timekeeper of these five days of national and international competitions, Longines also had the pleasure to take part in the FEI Dressage and Driving World Cup legs, which were won by Isabell Werth (GER) on Emilio and Jérome Voutaz (SWI) respectively.
