As the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of the 49th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Stuttgart (GER), Longines was proud to honour French gymnast Melanie de Jesus dos Santos and American gymnast Samuel Mikulak with the ultimate prize outside of competition: the Longines Prize for Elegance. All participants in the individual men and women all- around finals held respectively on Thursday 10 October and Friday 11 October were nominated for this elegant contest. The winners impressed the whole jury beyond technical considerations for the grace, beauty, harmony and above all, the elegance of their performance, a value cherished by Longines. They both received elegant Longines timepieces, as well as a trophy and a cheque.

In Stuttgart, the jury of the Longines Prize for Elegance comprised Rainer Eckert, Brand Manager Longines Germany, Morinari Watanabe, President of the International Gymnastics Federation, Catalina Ponor and Fabian Hambuechen, Women's and Men's Artistic Ambassadors for the 2019 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The jury's individual assessments were combined to form a collective judgement reflecting a perceptive and balanced evaluation of the gymnasts' performances.

Besides, Longines was delighted to support its Ambassador of Elegance, Swiss gymnast Giulia Steingruber. She finished eighteen among the world's best Artistic gymnasts in the individual All-around Final.

Last but not least, she was seen wearing the Official Watch of the event, a model from the Conquest Classic collection featuring a white mother-of-pearl dial adorned with diamond indexes. This line skilfully combines modernity with the refinement that defines the brand. Elegant and sleek, this latest creation is both feminine and boldly contemporary.
