From February 9-11, 2018, the vibrant city of Hong Kong welcomed the Asian leg of the Longines Masters series. Gathering some of the world’s best riders and horses for the delight of the numerous spectators in attendance, this three-day event perfectly combined remarkable sports performance with spectacular entertainment.

Today was marked by the victory of French rider Patrice Delaveau on Aquila HDC in the Longines Grand Prix, ahead of Max Kühner on Cielito Lindo 2 and Daniel Deusser on Cornet d’Amour. In recognition for his/her great achievement, Patrice Delaveau was presented with an elegant Longines watch from the hands of Mr. Juan-Carlos Capelli, Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing and Mrs Karen Au Yeung. On Saturday, all eyes were on the contestants of the Longines Speed Challenge, known as the world’s fastest trial. The challenge for the competitors of this event is to achieve the fastest time, knowing that a fault only leads to a two-second penalty, instead of the usual four. This rule pushes the riders to give their best and to run the course as fast as they can, creating a high-level of suspense.

Over the weekend, Longines has highlighted the Official Watch of the event, a lady model from the Record collection, featuring a white mother-of-pearl dial and diamond indexes. The Record collection combines classic elegance and excellence, aspiring to become the spearheads of the brand. Each piece in this line houses a movement including a single-crystal silicon balance spring with unique properties and is certified as a “chronometer” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

As the Title Partner of the Longines Masters, Longines is looking forward to the final stage of the 2017/2018 series, taking place for the first time in New York, from 26-29 April 2018.
