Longines Honours The Winners Of
The Longines Dubai Sheema Classic

As the Official Partner and Timekeeper of the Dubai World Cup, the Swiss watch brand Longines was proud to time the nine races of the day, including the Longines Dubai Sheema Classic, won by Old Persian.

The feature and eponymous race of the day, the Dubai World Cup, was claimed for the second time in a row by Thunder Snow, led by Christophe Soumillon. During the event, Longines highlighted a model from the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” collection, which represents a new achievement in the field of quartz, combining great precision, high technicality and a sporty look, marked by the brand’s unique elegance.

As Official Timekeeper of all events organised by the Meydan Group, Longines was proud to time the nine races of the Dubai World Cup, held on 30 March, at the impressive facilities of the Meydan Racecourse. The Swiss watch brand also lent its name to the Longines Dubai Sheema Classic, one of the biggest turf races in the world, claimed by Old Persian led by William Buick. Old Persian’s winning owner, trainer and jockey received elegant timepieces from the hands of Matthieu Baumgartner, Vice President Marketing of Longines and Patrick Aoun, Brand Manager of Longines Middle East.

The Dubai World Cup was the perfect opportunity for Longines to highlight a model from the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” collection, as the Official Watch of the race day. This timepiece, featuring a blue dial, is equipped with an exclusive movement renowned for its high degree of precision for an analog watch (± 5 seconds/year) and its ability to reset its hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field. These attractive features are likely responsible for its exceptional movement status, to which a very long battery life and a perpetual calendar must be added.
