Longines’ precision served the prestigious Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

This weekend on the Chantilly racecourse took place the 96th edition of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, one of the highlights of the racing world calendar, and supported by the Swiss watch brand Longines as Official Partner and Timekeeper.

As such, Longines celebrated the victory of Enable led by 2015 Longines World’s Best Jockey Frankie Dettori in this mythical race. In addition, the brand lent its name to two other Group 1 races, namely the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Longines and the Prix de l’Opéra Longines, claimed by Battaash and Rhododendron respectively. A model from The Longines Master Collection, displaying a sunray blue dial, was featured as Official Watch of the event.

Run for the second edition year in Chantilly, the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is a race which generates year after year unmatched enthusiasm, as evidenced by the ten thousands spectators in attendance, as well as the billion viewers installed in front of the television screens to watch  the performance of some of the best world’s racehorses. Besides, this unique horseracing event earned its worldwide reputation as it received the prestigious Longines World’s Best Horse Race award, which was presented for the first time by the IFHA and Longines in January 2016.

Official Partner of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the Swiss watch brand Longines had the pleasure to offer its timekeeping expertise to the seventeen races, including nine in Group 1, which took place during the event. The eponymous race saw the victory of Enable, ridden by Frankie Dettori. On Sunday, the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp Longines and the Prix de l’Opéra Longines Group 1 races were claimed by Battaash and Rhododendron respectively. On this occasion, the brand presented the jockey, trainer and owner of the winning horses with elegant Longines timepieces.

Along with the excitement of the most awaited horseracing trial, the spectators at Chantilly had the opportunity to discover the Official Watch: a model from The Longines Master Collection, featuring a sunray blue dial and fitted with a blue alligator strap. This fashionable chromatic variation is perfectly in line with the classic and understated spirit of this collection.

In the context of its partnership with France Galop, Longines is the Official Timekeeper of the racecourses of Chantilly, Deauville and Longchamp, as well as the Title Partner of the Prix de Diane Longines. The brand is also the Partner of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club.
