The 2019 Longines Masters Of Hong Kong
After an outstanding launch of the series in Paris last December, the Asian leg of the Longines Masters Series offered an eventful 3-day of competitions at AsiaWorld-Expo.
This equestrian rendezvous, of which the Swiss watchmaking brand Longines served as Title Partner and Official Timekeeper, beautifully ended today with Ireland’s talented rider Denis Lynch aboard Chablis in the much-awaited Longines Grand Prix. The winner was notably congratulated by Longines Ambassador of Elegance and famous artist Aaron Kwok, who honoured the spectators with his presence. On Saturday night, the second weekend’s highlight trial, the Longines Speed Challenge, was captured by Bertram Allen (IRL) on Christy JNR. On this occasion, the winged-hourglass brand was proud to welcome some of its Friends of the Brand, international influencers Ilona Smet, Alen Palander and Marcus Chang.
As the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the Longines Masters Series, the Swiss watchmaking company proudly took part in the Asian leg held from 15-17 February 2019 at AsiaWorld-Expo. Bringing together the world’s best riders and horses for breath-taking show-jumping competitions, the Longines Masters of Hong Kong perfectly combined performance at its peak with entertainment, glamour and gastronomy.
This last day of competition was marked by the great win of Ireland’s rider Denis Lynch on Chablis in the Longines Grand Prix. Simon Delestre (FR) and Uccello de Will arrived second followed by Pius Schwizer (CH) and About A Dream. On Saturday, Ireland’s Bertram Allen aboard Christy JNR emerged victorious in the Longines Speed Challenge. With obstacle penalties being only two seconds instead of four and thus pushing the riders to speed up, this competition is recognized as the fastest event of the circuit. On this occasion, French rider Patrice Delaveau and Vestale de Mazure HDC took the second place while compatriot Kevin Staut on Ayade de Septon Et HDC completed the podium.
Distinguished guests at the Longines Masters of Hong Kong
This glamorous event was also the perfect occasion for Longines to welcome some very special guests. On Saturday, French top-model Ilona Smet, Canadian influencer and photographer Alen Palander and Taiwanese artist Marcus Chang joined the brand to witness emotional moments of action during the Longines Speed Challenge. Representing the three continents of the series and perfectly embodying Longines’ elegance, the three Friends of the Brand will also be part of the final stage of the 2018/2019 series, taking place in New York, from 25-28 April 2019.
On Sunday, Longines had the great pleasure to have its Ambassador of Elegance and famous artist Aaron Kwok joining for the event’s grand finale, the Longines Grand Prix. The multitalented celebrity took part in the Prize Giving Ceremony and presented the trophy and a Longines timepiece to the winning rider. Aaron Kwok also seized this occasion to meet some of his fans at the Longines boutique.
The Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision”, the Official Watch of the event
During the Longines Masters of Hong Kong, Longines was proud to highlight a model of the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” as the Official Watch of the event.
